Happy Halloween!

What a great Halloween we had this year. We could not have asked for better weather here in Flagstaff. The kids had a great time running around and yelling "Trick or Treat". In fact, Ryan would say "Trick or Treat" until the person gave him candy, even if it was 10 times. Ethan rode around in the stroller and wasn't too happy about wearing the "shrek" hat. Overall, we had a great time. The kids got lots of candy, and now we get to monitor how much candy they are eating everyday. Take a look at the pictures below. They are so cute!

Long Overdue Update

Okay, so I know it has been a long time since I have updated this blog, but I will try to make up for it now. I have no excuses other then life is very busy now that summer has ended and work has begun. I am back at work full time and realizing that I actually have two full time jobs. One at the high school and one when I get home. Taking care of three children is fun but a lot of work. Scott is busy too with his three jobs. SR Overton Construction is doing great, Vice Mayor Overton is staying busy with the city and we are all here waiting for him when he gets home.

Over the summer Scott remodeled our house, adding on one new bedroom up stairs and expanding our living room to make more room for the larger family we have been blessed with. While the construction phase took place, the kids and I stayed with my parents in Phoenix. The jobs was supposed to take three weeks, but ended up taking six. When all was said and done we had a much larger living room, all three kids have their own bedrooms, new carpet, new fireplace, new larger TV to enhance the larger living room, and a finished back yard that includes a lovely grass area for the kids to play on. Overall it was a well done and necessary remodel. Needless to say, we are not going anywhere for a while. We will be in this house for some time.

We spent the late part of our summer camping and putting our house back together. We love to camp and get away, even if it is only 25 minutes away from our house. We take the quad and other toys out and just have a great family weekend. The camper is g
etting a little more cramped for space, but we manage to fit all five of us in there.

Maddy is back in preschool. Her birthday is too late for Kindergarten registration, so she will start Kindergarten next year. For now, she has the same teacher, but new friends, and she seems to be having a great time. Ryan is growing up so fast. He has turned into quite the little boy. He likes to imitate his sister and follow her around every where. He is still very funny and light hearted and just a wonderful little boy all around.

Ethan is also growing up very fast. He is 9 months old now and we are discovering that he has a happy disposition. He wakes up happy and goes to bed happy. He always seems to be smiling, and is a very loving little boy. He is very big for his age, weighing in at 22 pounds and 31 inches. He has two teeth and more on the way. He is crawling all around and pulling himself up onto everything. It won't be long before he is walking and following his brother and sister around.

Right now we are all just living our lives day to day. Each day brings new challenges and joys, but that is the beauty of life! Every day is a new day, and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my days then with my family and friends.

I have included some pictures of things we have done since my last post.

Welcome Ethan

I know this post is 6 months late, but I just learned how to do this. Better late then never!

Who would have thought that we would have three children. I couldn't image life without them!! On January 4th, 2007, we welcomed Ethan into our lives. He was born 7 lbs. 15 oz. 21 inches long. Ended up having a c-section with this delivery due to his breech position, but we all made it through just fine. Spent four days in the hospital after the birth and was eager to get home to see Maddy and Ryan.

The kids were so excited when we brought Ethan home. Ryan kept trying to poke at him and all Maddy wanted to do was hold him. They are both great with him.

He has grown up so fast. Six months old now and he has quite the personality. He has just started to sit up by himself which make it nice for both of us. I don't have to hold him all the time and he feels like he can be part of what everyone is doing. He is a big boy weighing in at 21 pounds. He looks more like a nine month old.

Disneyland 2007

Call us crazy, but we decided to take a trip to Disneyland with a four year old and an almost 2 year old. It was a blast. We left Flagstaff, dropped off Ethan at Grandma's, and headed west bound toward Disneyland with Madisson and Ryan. The kids did great. They watched movies, slept and played games the whole way.

We arrived in California late that evening, just in time for all of us to get to bed and get ready for a busy next day. Ryan had a blast trying to pull the suitcase from the truck to the hotel. He did it though... he has gotten to be so independent!

The kids had a blast once we were in the park. We soon realized that we should have brought a double stroller, but we managed to rent the strollers they have at the park. We went on every kiddie ride you can think of. They met all sorts of Disney characters, watched the parade and watched fireworks.

After a long days at Disneyland we decided to take the kids to Newport Beach. Although we didn't stay long they had a great time. Beautiful sunset, a little chilly, but fun for all.
